Coconut Macaroon - 1/2 dozen

This recipe from the 1940s is chewy and moist, rich with honey and caramelized to perfection. The Coconut Macaroon was the very first cookie sold by Van de Kamp's Holland Dutch Bakery in 1919, when the little Saratoga Potato Chip business evolved into a coffee shop. The founders absorbed a local baker who made a version of these delectable treats.
