Visions of warm pancakes with maple syrup will dance in your head when you catch the aroma. Known by true fans as the Pecan Crisp, it’s an original Van de Kamp's recipe that's tried and true!

Ingredients: flour, sugar, butter, organic palm shortening, maple syrup, eggs, maple flavoring, baking soda, salt



Flavor was perfect, but I remember them being crispier.
So glad you loved the taste of the Maple Pecan cookies! They were originally called 'Pecan Crisps' so I suppose they must have been crispier! I used butter, which perhaps softened the texture, while the VdK factory used shortening. My chosen shortening is an organic palm product, sustainable and more nutritious than what was available back in the day. Please let me know if you want to try a crispier version - I'd be happy to make them for you!
Delicious! I remember these cookies from the ‘60’s and they bring back so many great memories! They are the best!
